SATA SATA (serial ATA) is a serial data bus bus mainly used for the data exchange between PC mainboards and hard disk drives or optical disk drives. SATA was developed from the previous ATA Standard, which was first a parallel bus standard. With SATA, the parallel bus design has changed into a bit serial point-to-point connection, the serial (bitwise) data transmission. Currently SATA supports two data rates:
- Gen1: 1.5 Gbps
- Gen2: 1.5 and 3.0 Gbps
BitifEye supports automated SATA compliance tests and characterization for
- Gen1/Gen2 Devices (Hard Disk Drives and Optical Disk Drives)
- Gen1/Gen2 Hosts (PC Mainboards):
