BitifEye reports from the latest A-PHY test event at iPasslabs: focus on Tx/Rx validation, noise immunity, and correlation insights for the MIPI compliance program.

BitifEye supported and helped organize the latest MIPI A-PHY Compliance Program test event, held December 8–12 2025, at iPasslabs in Taipei, and provided test automation software and correlation methodology on-site.

Key Technical Takeaways:

  • Test Focus: The event concentrated on validating Tx and Rx PHY testing, conducting exploratory interoperability checks, and onboarding of additional test equipment vendors.
  • Rx Testing: Noise immunity was a central aspect. Controlled interference was applied using an AWG over worst-case cable models to evaluate DUT performance under stress conditions.
  • Tx Testing: Linearity testing verified transmitter behavior under defined limits to ensure support for higher-order modulation schemes such as PAM4.
  • Correlation and Workflow: A consistent workflow enabled rapid identification of CTS or MOI issues. Real-time correlation using BitifEye tools and procedures helped validate test coverage and onboard new vendors.
  • Program Status: With Phase I nearing completion, the compliance program now covers PMD-level Tx and Rx tests. Link layer testing was also initiated, paving the way for future test coverage.

BitifEye’s test automation software, ValiFrame, now supports receiver testing for MIPI A-PHY and meets the MIPI test event requirements.
